Our Practitioners

Dr. Kirti Kalidas

natural choiceI am Kirti Kalidas M.D., N.D., Board Certified in Internal Medicine and a Licensed Naturopathic Physician. I have been in medical practice for more than 25 years. I earned my medical degree in South Africa and completed my residency with the Georgetown program in Washington D.C.

I practiced as an Internist at my successful, busy internal medicine/family practice office for more than 15 years in the Orlando area. However, I started becoming concerned about contradictory health claims and pharmaceutical side-effects.  I was sincerely interested in addressing the root cause, instead of merely masking the symptoms.  I felt I was helping my patients only to some extent by alleviating symptoms, but by not addressing the root cause, I was not healing my patients.

I sold my practice and spent an additional two years broadening my medical knowledge at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine. I am now one of few physicians in the country to hold dual doctorate degrees, and am thus uniquely positioned to truly integrate both disciplines to optimize wellness.

Health and disease come from a complex interaction of physical, emotional, dietary, genetic, environmental, lifestyle, and other factors. I prefer safe, effective, non-invasive and supportive therapies to treat a patient as a whole person to restore their natural balance.  I am continuously reading new literature, attending seminars and conferences. I received additional training in Intravenous Vitamin-mineral therapy, Chelation therapy, Ozone, Hyperbaric and Oxidative medicine. I am trained in Prolozone therapy for pain and am also a lifestyle educator for preventative care and healthy fat loss. These innovative therapies have profound therapeutic value, especially when combined with traditional Naturopathic treatments. Complete health histories, diet diaries, symptom charts, reviewing past medical records, physical examinations and comprehensive baseline blood tests (or specialty lab tests), are all standard tools in my assessment and evaluation of a patient. I believe that a collaborative approach is the best form of medicine. A patient can benefit from the strengths of each discipline of medicine.

I enjoy playing the guitar and tabla and enjoy music and travelling with my wife Anita and our 2 children, Amar and Poonam, both in medical school. Recently I have been exploring the world of photography. As a lecturer and an educator, I hold monthly seminars to raise public awareness about the benefits of natural medicine.   With this advanced training and increased knowledge, I offer treatment options in Natural Therapeutics and Preventative Medicine. By treating the whole person, these programs optimize immune functions decreasing illness and enhancing the positive outcome for health and well being.  My functional approach truly provides, “A bridge to health, hope, and healing."

Dr. Thomas Moraczewski

I am Board Certified in both Obstetrics-Gynecology and Anti-Aging & Regenerative Medicine. I have practiced in the Ft. Walton Beach-Destin area for almost 30years. Having delivered approximately 6,000 babies and performed thousands of major and minor surgeries, I bring my experience in working with women through all their hormonal phases. I have prescribed bio-identical hormones safely to women for over 12 years.  My expertise is in anti-aging, nutritional, and hormonal medicine for women and men. My goal is to replace and balance the appropriate hormone and their metabolites to more youthful levels, and in so doing, hopefully restore vitality and energy in patients of all ages. My particular interests include:

• Preconceptual counseling and detoxification prior to pregnancy
• Prevention of Breast Cancer
• Bone loss without usage of traditional bisphosphonate therapy
• PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)
• Perimenopause & menopausal hormone issues
• Medical treatments for abnormal bleeding & uterine fibroids
• Early ovarian failure (premature menopause)
• Fatigue
• Underactive thyroid disorders, particularly autoimmune Hashimoto’s thyroiditis

Hormones are a symphony. The evaluation and balancing the many players in this complex orchestra, particularly the adrenal, thyroid, and reproductive hormones, requires diagnostic tests. I use various tests, including saliva, serum, and urinary, to measure hormone levels. Estrogen metabolism assessment is very crucial for breast and prostate health. Gut & liver health are important in the proper metabolism of hormones, so often I test for food allergies, toxic metals and digestive issues. Hormone receptors are activated only in the presence of proper mineral, enzyme, and vitamin cofactors, and therefore, I order iodine testing and micronutrient analysis (urine or serum) to ensure proper levels are present.

I attended the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Physics, medical school at Loyola University of Chicago School of Medicine, and Ob-Gyn internship and residency at Madigan Army Medical Center, one of the military’s busiest obstetrical hospitals. I most recently completed a two-year Fellowship in Anti-Aging, Regenerative, & Functional Medicine.
I have written three books in the reproductive field:

• Life’s Beginnnings
• Birth Sounds – Tales from the Birthing Room
• Reproductive Ethics – A Moral Evaluation of the New Technology

I share Dr. Kalidas’ vision in restoring, renewing, & revitalizing your health. I am excited to join Dr. Kalidas and his knowledgeable staff in our quest to keep you hormonally young and healthy.

Mike Kehoe, PA-C, PhD.

Dr. Michael KehoeMy name is Michael Kehoe and I have worked in the arenas of sports, health and wellness for over 20 years in a variety of capacities. I have taught as a university instructor and assistant professor in physical education, health and fitness for 16 years at East Carolina University, North Carolina State University, Florida State University and the University of Central Florida. I completed my Ph.D. in Athletic Administration from FSU in 2002 and worked as the Program Coordinator of the Lifetime Activities program there from 1997-2001. Additionally, I have worked in front office management as the Director of Ticket Operations or Assistant General Manager for minor league hockey franchises in Tallahassee, FL, El Paso, TX, and Port Huron MI.

In 2002, I accepted a position with UCF and was given the opportunity to write a new undergraduate degree program in Sports and Fitness that began operations in 2004 and I served as the Program Coordinator through 2008. My teaching responsibilities focused primarily on Nutrition, Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Fitness Assessment, and Human Performance. My area of research while in this position focused on pediatric obesity and I worked with local physicians and the Boys and Girls Clubs in programs to address prevention of type II Diabetes development in at risk youth populations. Additionally, I served as a member of the Lake County School Board Nutritional Advisory Council and have frequently lectured on obesity, nutrition, and physical activity both locally and nationally.

Although I thoroughly enjoyed teaching, I began to feel a calling to make a transition into a medical career and continue to help people in a different way. The influences of my work with diabetes mellitus, pediatric and adult obesity and a lifelong involvement in sports, fitness and physical activity combined with a personal family involvement of thyroid disorders and autoimmune disease and led to a decision in 2008 to return to school to become a certified physician assistant. I truly feel that my background and personal experiences give me a unique perspective on nutrition, wellness, and human performance from both a medical as well as exercise and wellness perspective. Areas of personal passion and focus in practice include fitness and wellness, chronic fatigue, preventive care, men’s health and men’s bioidentical hormones, thyroid disorders, autoimmune disorders, musculoskeletal disorders and rehabilitation support.

My wife Montse and daughter Sofia help bring balance and incredible love and support to my life and leisure time includes a love for reading, travel, enjoying nature and the outdoors and a leisurely kayak adventure on any available river.

Autumn Frandsen, N.D.

Autumn Frandsen I am a holistic healthcare provider who received my doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine with high honors from the University of Bridgeport. I began my collegiate career at Virginia Commonwealth University where I received a Bachelor's of Science in Biology with a Pre-Med concentration. After my undergraduate study I was an immunochemistry scientist at a Pharmaceutical company which helped me to discover that my true passion lies not with the manufacture of a palliation of symptoms but with the body's natural ability to heal itself with the help of that provided by nature. I believe that although there is a place for conventional medicine, more often than not, disease is caused by a disruption of the body's natural processes and I prefer the use gentle and natural methods to correct imbalance before introducing drugs or surgery.

My graduate study includes Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and the University of Bridgeport where I was trained in Nutritional Medicine, Homeopathy, Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, Physical Medicine, Botanical Medicine, and Counseling. I worked as a tutor while at SCNM where I practiced Docere, one of the naturopathic principles which means doctor as teacher. I believe that one of the most important things missing in medicine today is the willingness of physicians to educate the people on the cause and treatment of disease as well as how to prevent them from occurring. WIth the help of wellness oriented practitioners, I believe each individual patient can take back their own health and independence. I received certification as a Bach Flower practitioner and additional training in Homeopathy.

My specific areas of interest outside of overall promotion of wellness include Pediatrics, Dermatology, and Rheumatology.

Colonics - Lucy Westervelt (MA 33067)

I am in the unique position of being the only colon hydro therapist in Central Florida to offer both the closed colonic system, as well as the Angel of Water open system.  The large intestine, also known as the colon, measures about 5 to 5 1/2 feet in length.  When functioning properly, this important organ completes the digestion of food, manufactures and absorbs certain vitamins and nutrients and also absorbs water. The remaining waste is then eliminated through bowel movements.  Colon Hydrotherapy or “colonic” is a safe, sanitary, and gentle irrigation of the colon with purified, temperature controlled water. It is an internal bath that helps cleanse the colon of accumulated fecal matter, preventing the build-up of bacterial toxins and gas.  Many people report their colon hydrotherapy sessions as being both refreshing and relaxing.

Meditation - Elizabeth Cohen

Meditation is the experience of discovering, meeting, knowing and returning to ourselves in a moment of profound awareness. It is learning to pay attention moment by moment to what is actually so.  There are many doorways “home” to the heart’s center, where our healing and truth lies.  Experience in my classes may include breath awareness, sitting and walking meditation, mindful movement, contemplation and group discussions aimed at enhancing mindfulness practice and awakening the heart.

Yoga - Mary Kay Berg

My teaching style is creative, dynamic, holistic, fun, detoxifying, and restorative.  I will challenge you to connect with your edge while always honoring your body. I passionately believe that Yoga is the most effective way to purify the body - mind connection, and I will inspire you to work introspectively to relieve stress, improve mental clarity and promote an overall sense of balance and wellbeing.

Imaging Services - Specialty Imaging Services

We perform cardiac, vascular, general and obstetrical ultrasound procedures. The interpretations are provided by the appropriate board certified physician specialist. All of these procedures can be performed at our diagnostic facility or on a portable basis. Additionally, we perform 24 hour Holter monitoring (cardiac).

Specialties: Ultrasound and Echocardiogram

Acupuncture - Tara Clutter (AP 2949)

Acupuncture benefits the improvement of physical health conditions as well as affective disorders and instills a feeling of increased mental clarity.  Treatment is painless and effective in removing these energy obstructions.  I believe that energetic imbalances within the body are often created by emotions and organ disharmony.  As such, I formulate treatments according to the individual’s needs, while specializing in pain management, insomnia, and emotional distress.
